Akshaya Nataraj Yoga

Akshaya Nataraj

Your Yoga Instructor

I was first introduced to yoga at the age of twelve, spending three weeks at Yogaville Satchidananda Ashram in Buckingham County, VA as a supplement to my training in classical Indian dance, and have maintained a rigorous practice rooted in the Ashtanga tradition since 2018.
My teacher training certifications include:

  • 200-hour Vinyasa teacher training from Nectar Yoga Studio in Phoenixville, PA (completed May 2020)
  • 80-hour Yin teacher training through the Integral Yoga Institute of New York (completed August 2020)
  • 300-hour Tantra Yoga and Meditation teacher training taught by Pedro Aumkar (completed November 2021)
  • 50-hour advanced Yin teacher training with Kali Durga Yoga (expected completion August 2022)
  • 22-hour specialized teacher training in yoga for mental health (stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD) with Cindy Beers (expected completion August 2022)
Exposed to the Vedic religion by my family from a very young age, I have enrolled in 70+ additional hours of advanced yogic philosophy, including in-depth studies of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hathapradipika.
I have also participated in advanced immersions facilitated by David Garrigues, Adam Keen, Corina Benner, Mark Darby, Marque Garaux, Mark Robberds and Julia Paddison. You can find me on the teaching faculty for an upcoming yoga teacher training.

I singlehandedly credit yoga for helping me reclaim strength of body and regain peace of mind after facing personal trauma. You can expect to leave my classes with your body invigorated, your mind cleansed, and your spirit nourished.

By day, I work as a statistician for a prominent animal healthcare company, supporting livestock, companion animal, and aquaculture health outcomes.

Classes Offered

All classes are offered online and as guided demonstrations. Please take care of your mind and body during these troubling and uncertain times! Pending location and vaccination-status, I am able to offer in-person teachings and hands-on assists for an adjusted price.

Venmo your funds to @Akshaya-Nataraj for the class of your choice, and subscribe to my website to receive class link information via email (class links are emailed one hour in advance of class after payment is received*). Please list the transaction as "Private" with just the class date and an Emoji in the memo (Example: 10/28 đŸ˜»)  to protect us from being flagged as a business transaction and incurring additional fees. Email me through the contact button below with any questions you may have about class scheduling and expectations, goals for a private session, or alternative postures when practicing with injuries. You can also find me on Zelle using this email id.

*COMING SOON*: My YouTube playlist with pre-recorded guided video classes and audio recordings to practice with on your own!

All class proceeds benefit national animal cruelty prevention and global wildlife conservation efforts.

*If you pay for but can’t attend a class, no worries! I pass unused “credits” for the next available class and email you class link information automatically. Credits reset at the start of each month to maximize our donation impact (see below); adjustments may be made on a case-by-case basis e.g. credit remains if a class is altogether cancelled.
